 [PT Walkthrough - Part 14] Legendary Pokémon Catching Guide (Dialga & Palkia and Giratina)


After seeing the first ending in the previous walkthrough, your real journey to catch the legendary Pokémon begins!

Below is an easy step-by-step guide with numbered images for each stage.


Pokédex Check!

Check your collected Pokémon—202 so far!
The Sinnoh Pokédex has 210, so you’re missing 8.

Find missing Pokémon by searching their locations, trading, or through events.
(Some use cheats for speed, but don’t miss the fun of filling it yourself!)

The Second Adventure Begins at Home!
Start your postgame adventure at home!
You can visit Sunyshore City later.

Head to Professor Rowan’s Lab!
If you’ve completed the Pokédex, head to Professor Rowan’s lab.

Get praise from Professor Rowan and trigger an event with Professor Oak.

Professor Oak asks you to visit Pal Park, but that’s for another time!

Now, Let’s Catch the Real Legendaries!
If you’ve received the Pokétch Counter, it’s time to hunt legendary Pokémon!

Move to Celestic Town!

Enter this house…

You’ll get information about Dialga and Palkia.

After getting the info, head to Canalave City near Mt. Coronet.

Mt. Coronet & Spear Pillar!
You should be familiar with Mt. Coronet by now—just follow the path up.

Don’t forget to heal and save along the way!

Be sure to pick up the Adamant Orb (for Dialga) and Lustrous Orb (for Palkia)—these are essential!

Arrive at the Spear Pillar you visited before!

It’s time to meet the true legends.

Encountering Dialga & Palkia!
Dialga appears!
“Dialga, you’re mine!”

Good luck catching it!

Leave and re-enter Spear Pillar—now Palkia appears!

Catch Palkia the same way as Dialga.

Palkia GET complete!

👉 Remember: In Platinum, you can catch both Dialga and Palkia!

Now for Giratina’s Origin Form!
Let’s find the Griseous Orb, Giratina’s form-change item!
It’s in Turnback Cave (Sendoff Spring), where you first caught Giratina.

Start from Veilstone City!

Enter the cave and follow the path.

Turnback Cave is a maze, but a little exploration will get you through.

You’ll find a mysterious area!

If you haven’t caught Giratina yet, it will reappear here.

If you already caught it, just proceed!

Re-enter the Distortion World!
This time, the path is easier—just take your time.

A little further and… Griseous Orb GET!

Check Giratina’s Form Change!
Exit the Distortion World and check Giratina’s form change.

Giratina (Altered Form, without Griseous Orb)
Ability: Pressure – makes the opponent use 1 extra PP per move.

Giratina (Origin Form, with Griseous Orb equipped)
Ability: Levitate – immune to Ground-type moves.

Appearance, stats, and abilities all change by form!
Raise Giratina to match your style.
