[Pokémon DP Walkthrough – Part 3] Dialga & Palkia Guide – Eterna City (Second Badge Episode)

In the last walkthrough, we arrived in Eterna City, right?

Now it's time to challenge the Eterna City Gym!

This Gym specializes in Grass-type Pokémon, 

so having a Fire-type will make things much easier.

However, the trainers are hidden throughout the Gym, 

so you’ll need to find them one by one.

Finally, Gym Leader Gardenia appears!

She uses a total of three Pokémon.

All of them are Grass-types, 

so using Fire- or Flying-type Pokémon will let you win easily.

Second badge, GET!

You can now use HM01 Cut!

(Don’t worry if you don’t have it yet — you’ll get it soon!)

As a bonus, you can also get the TM for Grass Knot.

While exploring Eterna City, 

you’ll find a child who wants to trade for a Buizel.

Highly recommended for your Pokédex!

You can also obtain the TM for Recycle!

You’ll finally receive HM01 Cut!

The person who gives it to you is none other than Cynthia — the Champion of Pokémon DP. So popular!

Now that you have Cut, let’s go down this path!

Before entering the building, don’t forget to pick up the TM item nearby.

This building is a Team Galactic hideout.

You’ll need to battle trainers as you go up.

Finally, a Team Galactic Commander appears!

They have two Pokémon — nothing too difficult.

The man you rescue seems ready to thank you with a special gift...?

It’s a must-have item in Pokémon DP: the Bicycle!

Traveling just got way faster.

That wraps up the main events in Eterna City!

Before you leave, 

don’t forget to pick up the EXP Share from the gate.

It’s super useful for leveling up your team.

Now, ride your bike and cruise down Route 206!

There’s a fork in the road, 

but either way leads to the same result.

You’ll get the Dowsing Machine…

But let’s be honest — it’s kinda clunky and hard to use.

Keep going and you’ll reach the entrance to Mt. Coronet.

You’ll meet Cyrus — the leader of the evil team in Pokémon DP.

But here, he just talks to himself and disappears.

Keep following the path and you’ll see the Hearthome City gate!

Finally, you’ve arrived in Hearthome City!

But…

?! Let’s stop by the Contest Hall!

You’ll meet the Gym Leader here.

but you can’t battle her yet. 

(You need another badge first.)

The contest has this kind of vibe! Try it out once.

As for me? I’ll pass

There’s a Gym, but no available Leader…

Make sure to grab the Poffin Case before you leave!

And… another battle with your rival!

No badge yet but still gotta fight... feels a bit unfair.

You’ll receive an egg. 

Could it be Togepi?

Sadly, it’s not Togepi… It’s a Happiny?! Fooled again

You’ll also get the Good Rod!

Keep going north and continue your adventure!

You’ll see a castle-like building. 

Let’s go in!

There are lots of items to farm here, and you’ll also get HM04 Strength!

(But you can’t use it yet.)

You’ll come across the Pokémon Day Care.

You know what to do here, right?

Keep going north and you’ll arrive in Solaceon Town!

There’s the Solaceon Ruins here.

You can catch Unown here — it’s the only place! 

A must-visit for completing your Pokédex.

There are tons of farming 

items here like Odd Keystone, Rare Candy, Nugget, and Odd Incense.

You can get the TM for Roost!

You need to head this way next, 

but the path is blocked by Psyduck for now…

Pick up the TM for Payback on the way~

While battling and farming on the road…

Your Staravia evolves into Staraptor!

And it learns Close Combat!

You’ve reached the gate to Veilstone City — your next destination!
