 [Pokémon DP Guide – Part 13] Catching the Lake Guardians (Mesprit, Azelf, Uxie)


After finishing the first ending…

We’re back home—and look, we can now access Sunyshore City!
There’s still some story left there, 
but this is where our Pokémon Diamond & Pearl (DP) walkthrough will conclude.
We’ll continue the journey in the upcoming Pokémon Platinum (PT) guide!
But first, let’s go catch the Lake Trio—the legendary Pokémon of Sinnoh!

Step 1: Lake Verity – Mesprit

Let’s head to Lake Verity, the lake of truth!

Enter the cave in the middle of the lake.

Mesprit appears—but it suddenly flies away! 😢
One of the hardest legendaries to catch...

Wait a second… I don’t have the Marking Map app yet!
Let’s head to Jubilife City and get that first.

Step 2: Jubilife City – Marking Map App

Arrived in Jubilife City!

While I was at it, I grabbed the other Pokétch apps I had missed!
Be sure to check back often to keep your apps updated.

Step 3: Lake Acuity – Uxie

Back to Lake Acuity, near Snowpoint City.

Make your way to the lake and enter the cave.

Found Uxie! 
Save your game immediately!

Uxie doesn’t flee, so it’s easier to catch. 😊

Gotcha! Uxie is now mine!

Legendary Pokémon Uxie—Captured Complete!

Step 4: Lake Valor – Azelf

To reach the last lake, Lake Valor, head to Veilstone City.

The final lake guardian, Azelf, has appeared!

Azelf doesn’t run either—catching it should be straightforward!

Azelf captured! Another Legendary down!

Step 5: Chasing Mesprit

Now, back to Mesprit, the tricky one that roams the region!
You’ll need to track it using the Marking Map app and chase it down across towns and routes.

At last—Mesprit caught! Success!!

That wraps up our main adventure in Pokémon Diamond & Pearl!
There’s still more story, 

but we’ll be covering those details—including Giratina—in the Pokémon Platinum (PT) walkthrough.
