Welcome to Veilstone City! Made it here safely?

This is the city where you’ll earn your third Gym Badge.

And of course, no Pokémon game is complete without a department store. 

and Veilstone has one!

Let’s start by checking out the Veilstone Department Store~

They’re selling some solid TMs here!

Highly recommended if you need to upgrade your moves.

Explore every floor  there’s always something useful hidden.

Also, don’t forget to walk around the city itself ^^

You can get the TM for Embargo here as well.

Time to officially challenge the Veilstone City Gym!

This Gym specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon.

Whoa! Infernape evolution complete!

The Gym has a sliding wall puzzle layout.

Make your way through carefully...

You’ll finally meet Maylene, the third Gym Leader!

As expected, she focuses on Fighting-types.

If your Infernape knows Close Combat, this battle should be a breeze!

Third badge, GET!

You can now use HM02 Fly!

(But we haven’t received the item yet… Let’s go get it soon!)

As a bonus, you also receive the TM for Drain Punch.

…?! A sudden request?! Suspicious but let’s see what happens...

You end up in a tag-team battle with Team Galactic!

Time for a 2-on-2 tag battle!

Whoa! That Magikarp you were training with EXP Share finally evolved!

Next destination: Pastoria City.

And finally! You obtain HM02 Fly 

super useful for traveling around the map!

That wraps up the major events in Veilstone City!

Time to head toward the next area: Pastoria City.

Just follow Route 214.

On the way, you’ll pass the Ruin Maniac’s Cave.

You’ll also get close to Lake Valor…

Unfortunately, you can’t enter it just yet.

There’s a key-related event here, 

but we’ll skip it in this guide!

This area is also great for leveling up your team  

a perfect training spot!

Keep heading forward and you’ll reach the gate to Pastoria City!
