[Miru's Pokémon HeartGold SoulSilver HG/SS Walkthrough - Episode 33] Legendary Pokémon Appearance Conditions & Locations Complete Guide
Mahogany Town’s local specialty, the “Rage Candy Bar,” is being sold by an NPC blocking the path. You’ll also encounter members of Team Rocket demanding a toll fee. Defeat them to proceed toward the Lake of Rage.
Before approaching the lake’s center, explore the surrounding area to farm hidden items and train against wild Pokémon.
The intense presence of the Red Gyarados awaits! Capture it to receive the Red Scale, which can later be traded with a specific NPC for the Exp. Share—a helpful tool for faster experience gain.
Inside the shop, hidden clues suggest something suspicious—it’s actually the entrance to the Team Rocket Hideout.
Inside, you’ll face numerous Team Rocket Grunts. During these battles, your Pidgeotto evolves into Pidgeot, becoming a major asset for the upcoming fights.
As you progress deeper, you’ll need to collect several passwords to unlock doors. Talk to the necessary NPCs and pick up required items along the way.
Avoid unnecessary battles when possible and focus on key encounters to save time and health items.
After obtaining two passwords, the gate opens, leading to a battle against the Team Rocket Boss. The enemies here aren’t too strong, so proper leveling ensures an easy fight.
Right after, Silver appears and helps mimic the boss’s voice using a voice-lock device, aiding your progress. This part also unveils secret story events worth watching.
Follow Silver into the final area to face the last enemies. Here, you’ll experience a rare 2-on-2 Tag Battle alongside Lance, one of the highlights of HeartGold and SoulSilver’s cooperative combat system.
You can now capture Electrode inside the hideout. Its explosive Electric-type moves are versatile and useful for many team setups. Finish the final encounters to receive various item rewards and complete the hideout storyline.
After the mission, you’ll receive HM07 Whirlpool. This Water-type field skill allows access to new water areas but is relatively weak in battle, so teach it only to a Pokémon you use for exploration.
With this episode complete, return to Mahogany Town. In the next part, we’ll take on the Mahogany Gym and explore new story events!
