Welcome to Pastoria City!

It’s time to earn your fourth Gym Badge!^^


Let’s head straight for the Pastoria City Gym!

This Gym specializes in Water-type Pokémon.

The puzzle involves pressing buttons to change the water levels!

It might be a bit of a hassle, 

but with a little back and forth, it’s totally manageable.


Finally, here comes the Gym Leader: Crasher Wake!

He uses a team of three Water-type Pokémon.

Electric-types make this battle easy, but…

I didn’t have any, so I just brute-forced it with higher levels ^^


Fourth badge, GET!

Great job, everyone!


You can now use HM05 Defog!

It’s not used often, but in Diamond & Pearl, 

it’s necessary in some areas.

Let’s go pick it up right away.


Bonus: You also receive the TM for Brine!

Wait, a Team Galactic Grunt is heading toward the lake?!

Let’s grab Defog first, then go chase them down~


Off to the Great Marsh Safari Zone!

Essential stop for completing your Pokédex.


Talk to the NPC inside and they’ll give you HM05 Defog 

nice and easy!

Let’s exit quickly; time’s ticking!


The Grunt is still on the run…

Found him! Hiding over here. ^^

Really? What’ve you been doing all this time?
He uses weak Pokémon, so it’s an easy win.

Let the chase continue!

Don’t forget to pick up the TM for Aerial Ace on the way!

Still chasing… All he’s good at is running.

Around here, there’s a hidden Room Key.
Use the Dowsing Machine to find it!
(I skipped it — the reward is Lava Cookie 😅)

He finally stops and battles for real.

Now, thanks to Cynthia’s Secret Potion, we can pass!

Fly back to Solaceon Town~
This is where you’ll use the Secret Potion!

Turns out the Psyduck were actually in pain 😢
But now the path is clear!

Next up: a delivery quest for Cynthia!

Time to use HM05 Defog!
(It’s optional, but skipping it makes battles more annoying.)

Keep going and you’ll arrive at Celestic Town.

Explore every corner of this quiet village!

Wait, Team Galactic again?!
Time to teach them a lesson.

Quest complete!

Finally!!
You receive HM03 Surf 
one of the most important HMs in the game.
Don’t miss it!

Unfortunately, you can’t use Surf just yet.
You’ll need the Gym Badge from Hearthome City first.

And… someone mysterious appears. Who could that be? 😐


Let’s set off for our next destination: Hearthome City!

That’s it for this walkthrough!
